Going into its 4th year, Nordic Life Science Days on September 14-15 will once again showcase innovative life science companies, reflect ongoing trends in the industry and offer great business opportunities.

As in previous years the two day conference at Stockholm Waterfront Congress Center will offer panel discussions, conference sessions, an exhibition area and face-to-face meetings in order to facilitate business opportunities and networking.

“NLSDays has been steadily growing for three years, thus proving that the Nordic region has become highly attractive for the global life science industry. We now have an established, international arena for collaboration in place and since we see that investors, companies and experts keep coming back to us, we are confident that the meetings at NLSDays create value for the delegates and that many lead to business deals,” says Jonas Ekstrand, CEO of SwedenBIO, the Swedish life science industry organization and the founder of the event.

New additions to this year’s event include a different exhibition layout, aiming to create more interactions with the exhibitors, and ten different super sessions. There will also be extended networking and partnering opportunities. Last year’s event resulted in over 2 000 face-to-face meetings, recalls Olivier Duchamp, Managing Director of Nordic Life Science Days and CEO of Bionordic Services AB, and he and his colleagues expect over 1000 international delegates to attend the event this fall.

“Our goal and mission statement is to deliver the best partnering and networking platform for the Nordic life science industry, gathering the best companies from the region and connecting them with international investors and large global pharma companies,” says Duchamp.

Oncology and reversed pitching

The event aims to reflect ongoing trends in both the Nordic and the global life science industry. This year’s event, for example, will have a special focus on oncology, including three Super Sessions held in cooperation with Oslo Cancer Cluster. Topics include immunotherapy, oncology goes digital, and diagnostics 2020.

“We are very excited that oncology is a main topic. In regards to that we host three sessions with a great mix of international speakers from academia, biotech and global pharma on what to expect in hot areas like immuno-oncology and digital oncology,” says Jutta Heix, International Advisor at Oslo Cancer Cluster. “As previous editions of NLS Days have proved to be, it is a very important conference for fruitful partnering meetings for our members and our team. NLSDays have paved the way for increased attention from global pharma to look for more early stage innovation to exploit opportunities in Nordics.”

Another program point you do not want to miss out on is the International investor’s session, where 15 international investors will be pitching in a row.

“This a very unique session where international investors are on stage for three minute pitches. Usually companies looking for investments are pitching and the investors are listening, but we have changed the rules and made this session very creative and dynamic,” explains Duchamp.

On the financing theme there will also be an interactive debate and sessions about innovative partnering models and venture philanthropy. And last, but not least, the Nordic Star Awards will be announced, highlighting Nordic life science companies demonstrating outstanding innovation and entrepreneurial skills!
