Tobias Bäckström, GSK’s new Medical Director, will be reporting to both Ebbe Englev, Cluster Medical Director and Niclas Källbom Karlsson, CEO of GSK Sweden, and he will be a part of the Swedish board of directors.

Tobias Bäckström has 15 years of experience as medical doctor and he is specialized in clinical pharmacology. Previously he has been head of the Clinical Pharmacological Trial Unit at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at the Karolinska University Hospital. Since 2012, he has been working as medical advisor and last year as Acting Medical Director at Takeda Pharma AB.
