Attorney Stefan Wendén, a managing partner in a Swedish law firm, is now part of the Malmö-based research park Medeons first virtual management team. The new concept is being tested at Richter Life Science Development, founded by Agneta Richter Dahlfors, professor of microbiology at Karolinska Institutet, according to Swedish Life Science.

In a virtual management team, members are not employees of an incubator company, but are a resource, available for advice and consultation on various issues and are in constant contact with the company to stay up to date on activities. Areas in which they could consult include IP, law, economics and business and organizational development.

Richter Life Science Development is working on a new technique to detect biofilms, which occur when colonies of bacteria surround themselves with a structure of carbohydrates and proteins. This helps them to attach to different surfaces and protect them from substances such as pharmaceuticals in the environment.

Wendén has experience in consulting, primarily in corporate and contract law; real estate law, mergers and acqisitions, intellectual property, marketing and IT law, involving both Swedish and international companies.
