BIO-Europe Spring has begun – as a virtual conference

BIO-Europe Spring 2020 is delivered digitally March 23-27 and the week will be filled with virtual partnering meetings, online company presentations, pre-recorded panels and a virtual exhibit.
As a response to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak the organizers of BIO-Europe Spring, EBD Group, took the decision to instead of hosting an in-person format in Paris, deliver it as a full digital event. The event is only open to registered attendees.
“A situation out of our control is preventing us from doing business in a face-to-face environment, so we have come together to offer an alternative solution,” they state.
The largest digital life science partnering event
The first day began with an online speech from Anna Chrisman, Group Managing Director of the event. She said that this will be the largest digital life science partnering event.
As of Monday March 23rd, the event includes 45 company presentations, more than 50 virtual exhibits and 12 panel discussions available for registered attendees.
Keynotes and panel discussions
Besides keynotes and presentations, the organizers EBD Group, has also posted other valuable sessions for visitors, including a session for delegates new to partnering; what can you expect, and what do others expect from you? It includes tactics to generate the best ROI from partnering. Another session covers option licensing deal with an early stage asset where a specific case study of a deal from one of the EBD Academy faculty is examined. A third session is about orphan drug commercialization in Europe. This interactive workshop will focus on how small and medium-sized enterprises can best bring their rare disease therapies to European patients. A particular focus will be on the reimbursement system in France, as France has a unique early access program for life-saving drugs and is often the first country to enter the European market.
Panel discussions includes topics like Seal the deal: Negotiation dos and don’ts, Investing in innovation, new digital approaches for a new decade, What is going to convince Pharma to embrace Microbiome?, and Leveraging the ecosystem, the timing and the ask: Succeeding as a biotech startup. There will also be a keynote on Combating Coronavirus.
Company presentations and virtual exhibit
Besides hot topics being discussed visitors can browse through interesting virtual company presentations, in the categories biotech, large pharma, midsized pharma and startup spotlight. The startup spotlight features video presentations from innovative startup companies representing the next generation of medicine. It also include panels on this subject (Leveraging the ecosystem, the timing and the ask: Succeeding as a biotech startup).
Attendees may also login to partneringONE to access their meetings schedule and respond to requests. They may also enter the virtual exhibit.
