Lars Backsell and Thomas Eldered has received enterprise medal for excellent entrepreneurship.

The two founders received the medal for the development of Recipharm to become one of the world’s largest contract manufacturing and development organisations of pharmaceuticals.

“We are very proud of this award which reflects not only our actions but also the work of our thousands of talented co-workers over almost two decades”, Thomas Eldered commented. “We perceive ourselves as thoroughbred entrepreneurs who dare to take chances and then invest wholeheartedly. But at the same time, we want to build a long-term and sustainable business. We want to continue to drive that process” said Lars Backsell.

The medal was handed over by Princess Christina at the Royal Society’s annual celebration at Riddarhuset in Stockholm on the 10th of April. “The Royal Patriotic Society medal” is a reward for outstanding entrepreneurship that is handed out each year to a dozen people, who with ownership influence created and developed companies – and thus worked for a better Sweden – since 1772 when Gustav III signed the Society’s statute. The purpose of the medal is to honor the recipients for a long-term meaningful work, and to inspire others.
