Getinge cuts another 50 jobs
Medtech giant Getinge is continuing the downsizing of the company as another 50 staff members are being made redundant.
The employees, that were informed about the news on Tuesday May 7th, is working at the sterilization unit in Halland, in western Sweden, which at the moment has 300 staff members. The changes are part of the company’s process of efficiency but also a result of a downturn in orders, says Anders Grahn, Business Area Manager at Getinge Infection Control, to P4 Halland.
Since 2009, the company has moved large parts of its production abroad. In February, the production site outside of Gothenburg was moved to China. Just a few months ago, in early March, Getinge announced that the manufacturing of its bath and hygiene products are to be moved from Eslöv, south of Sweden, to the production facility in Poznan, Poland, resulting in 150 staff members being made reduntant.
