Great Britain to finance ESS
Recently it was announced that Spain is contributing with finances to the building of European Spallation Source in Lund and on March 11 it was announced that Great Britain will contribute with EUR 195 million.
The sum is equivalent of SEK 1.8 billion and 10 percent of the total cost. “That the British government is chosing to be a co-funder in ESS is important to the project and a vital success for Sweden. We have been driving intensive negotiations with the British government and British research authorities for a long time. The Brits have a highly qualified research and is a large science nation. The will contribute with great knowledge,” said Swedish Minister for Education Jan Björklund in a press release.
More agreements are under negotiation.
