Niclas Karlsson will be the new CEO for GlaxoSmithKline in Sweden.

Karlsson started at the company as a pharmaceutical advisor in 1997 and has recently worked as Sales Force Compensation Lead for GSK Europe. He has also been CEO for Commercial Excellence within GSK Europe, commercial director for Primary Care, Hospital Care, Vaccines and External Affairs within GSK Sweden. He will start the new position as CEO starting from May 1, taking over after Marine Queniart Stojanovic who will instead lead a global project in developing the company’s interaction with healthcare.

“It feels great to come back to Sweden and lead the Swedish organisation. I’m particularly looking forward to lead GSK Sweden through a time with many interesting launces. We are also carrying out a number of changes in business model to strengthen our collaboration with healthcare and in the end ensuring that the right patients can take part of our medicines and vaccines,” said Niclas Karlsson in a statement.
