SwedenBIO has appointed Helena Strigård as deputy CEO and Head of Policy.
The national non-profit association for the life science industry in Sweden, SwedenBIO, aims to support its members by analyzing and describing the life science industry in the country. They also aim to contribute to increased knowledge and an active debate in the field, facilitating political decision for better health and strengthening the sector. In order to further strengthen this work, the organization has appointed Helena Strigård. She has most recently held a position as non political official at the Ministry of Finance’s budget department. She has worked closely with both the current government as well as the previous government. She has a M.Sc (Molecular Biotechnology) and B.A, and has had positions at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and BusinessEurope.
“The life science industry’s potential to contribute to solving topical challenges in our society is greater than ever. For example, possibilities and expectations on healthcare are changing due to digitalization and personalized healthcare. But that potential will not be fully substantialized if the life science companies are not given good conditions. And we shall remember that the life science industry is facing a fierce competition internationally. I look forward to continue SwedenBIO’s advocacy to strengthen Swedish life science,” says Strigård.
Strigård will start her new position on November 27th.
