The Swedish innovation authority will support five new development programs, one of which is focused on widespread diseases and life science.

The program, which will receive SEK 100 million in funding, will involve academia, health care and the life science industry. The aim is to make the program a national platform with responsibility for the development of sustainable research and innovation structures and processes for the Swedish life science sector.

The project will be led from Lund University and will initially focus on diabetes.
