A hackaton focused on reducing the gender health gap and advancing women’s health.”
Using generative AI tools, HackHERHealth is set to tackle gender disparities in health and healthcare, a challenge often rooted in historical inequalities in research and medical treatment practices, states the initiators. Students, researchers, tech enthusiasts, life science experts, entrepreneurs – anyone who wants to participate – are invited to together develop innovative femtech solutions to bridge the gap that exists between men and women in the health field, they state.
“The gender health gap is a real and structural problem, which unfortunately has been present for a long time, and which we need to address more and work together in the life science sector to reduce. We at AstraZeneca are proud to, together with our friends in Health Innovation West, contribute by organizing HackHERHealth, and create an innovative environment that can generate smart and concrete solutions,” says Matti Ahlqvist, Site Executive Director for AstraZeneca’s R&D facility in Gothenburg.
A Women’s Empowerment Week
HackHERHealth starts with a launch and panel discussion on March 8, International Women’s Day, at GoCo Health Innovation City, which is organizing Women’s Empowerment Week throughout the week.
The hackathon itself then takes place April 12-14 at GoCo and Sahlgrenska Science Park and concludes with an awards ceremony at Sahlgrenska Science Park on April 19.
