In this role you will ensure that the Stille Group’s Surgical Tables Business Unit maintains product leadership and premium quality, especially in the surgical disciplines that are of strategic importance. This includes responsibility for product roadmap to keep leadership, driving efficient product development projects, driving innovation and securing that their products and processes are according to standards, laws and regulations.

As R&D Manager you will build effective relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally to be in the forefront of trends, developments, and future possibilities. As the R&D Manager you will take full responsibility of the R&D department including the development process, R&D budget, timelines, and the R&D team. The role reports to the CEO and is part of the leadership team. The position is based at the company’s office in Eskilstuna with the possibility of hybrid work.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead product development projects, ensuring delivery within defined scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Develop and implement strategic product development plans.
  • Manage the R&D department’s budget, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Work on strategic portfolio development to maintain product leadership.
  • Support the investigation of customer complaints, manage change requests, and implement preventive measures.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with external R&D partners and suppliers.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to the R&D team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Ensure that the R&D team has the necessary skills and competencies to meet organizational goals.



Qualifications: 

  • Relevant academic degree.
  • + 5 years’ experience in product development processes.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of development of medical devices and MDD/MDR directive and relevant ISO standards.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and one other language such as Spanish, French, German, Italian or Swedish.
