Karolinska Development portfolio company OSSDSIGN presented preliminary data at European Congress of Neurosurgery 2016 in Athens, indicating that OSSDSIGN Cranial may provide better, more permanent solution for cranioplasty, even in a complex patient population.
OSSDSIGN found, in a retrospective study of patients undergoing cranioplasty using OSSDSIGN Cranial, 96.7% of patients treated showed no signs of post-operative complications leading to implant removal at an average follow-up time of 9.5 months. This indicates that OSSDSIGN Cranial may provide a better, more permanent solution for cranioplasty, even in a complex patient population.
This preliminary data is part of a larger retrospective study which will be published and presented once completed.
