Earlier detection would allow patients to intervene sooner in the course of a developing migraine attack – for example, by leaving an environment that worsens the attack, or by starting treatment earlier.

Klaria has received EU approval for its Sumatriptan Alginate Film and has licensed the product for launch across the EU. The film lets patients treat an attack with a reliable, reproducible medicine, while RTHS’s technology is designed to pick up the earlier signals that precede an attack.

RTHS’s technology combines advanced, non-invasive sensors with algorithms that detect subtle changes in an individual’s blood flow dynamics. It is expected to enable personalized detection of the blood flow changes that signal an oncoming migraine attack. Together, the two technologies are intended to enable both earlier detection and earlier treatment for migraine patients.
