Anna Sundin has a broad background in corporate finance, corporate banking, and management consulting. She joins Sciety from BearingPoint, where she led M&A activities in the Nordics. Earlier in her career, she held roles at ABG Sundal Collier, Swedbank, Bryan Garnier & Co, and Kaupthing Bank.

Why did you decide to accept the role as CEO of Sciety?

“When the opportunity came up, I quickly felt that the role was a strong match for my background. Sciety has built a strong position in Nordic life science, and the combination of investment work and transaction advisory is especially appealing to me.”

The combination of investment work and transaction advisory is especially appealing to me.

“I was also drawn to the company’s clear ambition to keep growing and developing the business. Getting to help drive that growth together with an experienced team feels both inspiring and highly motivating.”

What do you find especially interesting about Sciety and the company’s position today?

“What really sets Sciety apart is its deep sector expertise combined with an established network of both companies and investors. That creates strong conditions for connecting promising life science companies with the right capital and long-term owners. At the same time, I see a clear need for advisors who combine strong transaction expertise with a deep understanding of life science and healthcare. That’s an area where Sciety already holds an interesting position, and one I believe we can continue to strengthen.”

Given your background in finance, M&A, and advisory work, what do you hope to bring to the role?

“I’ve worked across several parts of the financial sector and with a wide range of transactions and strategic questions. That’s given me experience seeing both the financial and strategic sides, and finding solutions tailored to a company’s specific needs and stage of development. I hope to bring that breadth of experience to Sciety’s continued development, both in how we work with our companies and investors and in how we grow the business going forward.”

How do you view the outlook for Nordic life science and access to capital going forward?

“I believe the fundamentals for Nordic life science are strong, with robust research, a high degree of innovation, and many companies with real international potential. At the same time, I expect the capital markets to remain selective.”

Companies that can show clear validation, strong intellectual property, and a credible path to commercialization or other value-creating milestones will likely find it easier to attract capital.

“Companies that can show clear validation, strong intellectual property, and a credible path to commercialization or other value-creating milestones will likely find it easier to attract capital. For companies at earlier stages, funding is likely to remain more challenging. That makes specialist investors and financial advisors with deep sector knowledge especially important. Assessing the potential of a life science company requires understanding the science, the development risk, and the commercial realities all at once.”

Anna Sundin succeeds co-founder Andreas Lindblom, who continues in an operational role as Managing Partner. She took up the role on September 16.
