The appointment at the Lund-based company follows its strategic refocusing, announced in July, toward its financial interest in HLX22, a HER2-targeting antibody developed by Shanghai Henlius Biotech. Alligator has discontinued internal development of mitazalimab and is seeking to out-license or divest the asset. Giléus will combine the CEO and CFO roles, and the company will then operate with a minimal organization supported by the Board of Directors and external consultants.

Johan Giléus

Giléus has more than thirty years of experience in senior positions, the last nine of them in the Swedish biotech industry. He joined Alligator as CFO in August 2024. Before that, he worked at Deloitte Sweden from 1991, primarily with M&A and financial reporting, and left the partnership in 2015.

“Søren has led Alligator with great energy, integrity, and commitment through a demanding period for the biotech sector,” says Hans-Peter Ostler, Chairman of the Board. “We are pleased to secure a seamless transition with Johan, who knows Alligator and our financial interest in HLX22 in depth.”
