ALK-Abelló appoints new head of Global R&D
ALK-Abelló has appointed Jacob Glenting as Executive Vice President and head of Global R&D, effective 1 September.
Glenting moves from his role leading Corporate, Portfolio & Product Strategy, filling a position that had been vacant since February.
“Jacob brings significant contributions to ALK and has been instrumental in our strategic partnerships. His scientific background combined with his strong experience in ALK and ability to connect our R&D and commercial strategy, makes him uniquely qualified to drive our innovation strategy,” says President and CEO of ALK-Abelló, Peter Halling.

Jacob Glenting has been with ALK since 2007, working across commercial and scientific functions and playing a key role in the company’s strategic partnerships with Torii (now Shionogi), Abbott and GenSci, as well as licensing agreements including neffy with ARS Pharmaceuticals. He has also contributed to ALK’s pediatric expansion and therapeutic area development. He holds a PhD in vaccine development and immunology and a Master’s in biochemistry, and brings more than 25 years of pharmaceutical and business development experience.
