Britt Meelby Jensen has been appointed CEO of the Swedish medtech company Atos Medical.

As previously reported, Britt Meelby Jensen, has left her position as CEO of Zealand Pharma, and now, it is official that she is the new CEO of Atos Medical. The medtech company is based in Malmö, Sweden, and is focused on laryngectomy care.

“I am very excited about my new position and I am also impressed by their results in recent years. I look forward to contribute with my experience and knowledge,” says Britt Meelby Jensen to Danish journal Berlingske.

Several managerial positions

Before joing Zealand Pharma, Meelby Jensen has held managerial positions at Novo Nordisk and Dako, and she has a MBA from Solvay Business School, Brussels (1998) and a MSc from Copenhagen Business School (2000).

She has also been a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Co (2000-2002).

Leadership according to Britt

In an interview with Nordic Life Science (No 02 2018) Britt Meelby Jensen answered a few questions about leadership, including what successful leadership is to her and what is characteristic for her leadership style:

“I am ambitious and sets ambitious goals and I try to be clear and articulate about the rationale and how to reach them.”

“First of all you need to set a clear direction of where you want to go and make sure that everybody understands what it means to them. Secondly you have to be able to attract and develop the right team, not only individuals but a whole team,” she said. “I am ambitious and sets ambitious goals and I try to be clear and articulate about the rationale and how to reach them. I am demanding, on myself foremostly, but also on others, and I expect that everybody makes an effort to do their best. I am also open, transparent, and respectful, and I get a lot of energy from delivering results together with others.”
