The ambitions include at least five Phase 3 programmes in obesity and diabetes and at least five in other therapy areas, counting both new and current programmes. Novo targets a 2026–30 revenue CAGR in line with industry peers, without giving a figure. It names 14 peers, including Eli Lilly, AstraZeneca, Novartis and Roche. It also aims to scale capacity to serve ten times more people with obesity on oral GLP-1, and to maintain a broadly stable operating margin and an attractive dividend per share.

The company stresses that all ambitions run to 2030 from a 2026 baseline. It says they are inherently uncertain, do not constitute financial guidance, and that the revenue and margin ambitions are based on adjusted metrics. The DKK 150 billion pipeline figure is risk-adjusted and includes current pipeline assets.

Three priorities

In its corporate strategy presentation, Novo sets out three priorities: strengthening its diabetes and obesity core, building growth engines in blood and endocrine disorders, liver disease and cardiovascular disease, and exploring consumer prescription opportunities. The plan is framed around the coming loss of semaglutide exclusivity, with Novo aiming to keep competing for semaglutide volumes before and after it. The launch plan includes CagriSema in early 2027, cagrilintide in 2028 and zenagamtide in 2029, with novel mechanisms from 2030. Novo also aims to grow its blood and endocrine business by more than 50 percent by 2030 from a 2026 base, citing late-stage assets including Frehemgo, etavopivat and zaltenibart.

CagriSema

At the Capital Markets Day, Novo also presented topline results from two Phase 3 trials of CagriSema. In REIMAGINE 5, a head-to-head trial in adults with type 2 diabetes, CagriSema 1.0 mg/1.0 mg achieved an estimated average weight loss of 12.4 percent at week 60, compared with 9.1 percent for tirzepatide 5 mg, while matching it on blood sugar control. In REDEFINE 9, the same dose produced 21.0 percent weight loss at week 68 in adults with overweight or obesity, versus 2.0 percent for placebo.

Wegovy pill

Novo estimates that the Wegovy pill has expanded the oral GLP-1 market to about 1.5 million patients within eight months of launch, with more than seven million prescriptions written in the US since launch. It also says its company-wide transformation since August 2025 has produced savings of more than DKK 10 billion, redirected to commercial and R&D activities. Novo describes its approach to business development as disciplined and bolt-on, and points to partnerships in consumer prescription offerings and with AI providers.

Workforce

Novo’s presentation shows a workforce of about 66,000 full-time equivalents, 13,000 fewer than at its peak. In autumn 2025, the company announced plans to cut 9,000 jobs globally, including 5,000 in Denmark. The Copenhagen Post reported that CEO Mike Doustdar disclosed the 13,000 figure at the event. According to the Financial Times, a Novo spokesperson said most of the additional 4,000 departures reflected natural attrition and roles left unfilled.
