Cantargia and Oncoinvent appoint new chief medical officers
Swedish Cantargia has appointed Monic Stuart, MD, as Chief Medical Officer, and Norwegian radiopharmaceutical company Oncoinvent has named Zuzana Jiráková Trnková, MD, PhD, to the same role.
Stuart started immediately and Jiráková Trnková starts on November 4.
Monic Stuart
At Cantargia, Monic Stuart will lead clinical development of the IL1RAP antibody nadunolimab in hematological cancers and solid tumors, including the next steps in pancreatic cancer. A hematologist-oncologist with more than 20 years in oncology drug development, she has held senior roles at Genentech, where she was Global Development Lead for Perjeta during Phase 3, and at Geron.
She has also served as interim CMO or head of clinical development at Acerta Pharma, where she oversaw the first NDA submission for Calquence, and at Revolution Medicines.
Jiráková Trnková
At Oncoinvent, Jiráková Trnková will lead preparations for a Phase 3 trial of Radspherin, an alpha-emitting therapy given after surgery to target cancer cells in the abdominal cavity. She succeeds Kari Myren, who is leaving for a role outside drug discovery.
Jiráková Trnková spent 13 years at Bayer, where she led global radiology clinical development and medical affairs and headed oncology clinical pharmacology, including radium-223 (Xofigo). She has since been Vice President of Clinical Research and Development at BioNTech and, most recently, CMO at Highlight Therapeutics.
“Her experience leading global pivotal Phase 3 trials through to approval, together with her work with alpha-emitting radiopharmaceuticals, will be highly valuable as we prepare Radspherin for Phase 3 development,” says Øystein Soug, CEO of Oncoinvent.
