He has also held positions at Skåne University Hospital and at Washington University in St. Louis, USA. He will initially be based in Sweden before moving to one of Lilly’s office in the USA.

Oskar Hansson is an internationally recognized researcher with over 500 original articles published and more than 60,000 citations, according to Eli Lilly. “He has pioneered the development of early biomarkers detection and differentiation of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases,” the company states. He has also received several awards; in 2023 he was awarded the Zenith Fellows Award from The Alzheimer’s Association, the Elsa and Alfred Eriksson prize from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the De Leon Prize in Neuroimaging.
