Evaxion’s cancer vaccine responses hold at three years
Danish Evaxion reports that all patients in its Phase 2 trial of the personalized cancer vaccine EVX-01 in advanced melanoma kept their clinical responses at the three-year follow-up, with no tumor progression observed.
During the first two years, patients received EVX-01 together with MSD’s checkpoint inhibitor Keytruda (pembrolizumab). Six of the trial’s 12 responders continued into a one-year extension, where they received EVX-01 on its own. Two-year data, presented at ESMO 2025, showed a 75% objective response rate, with 25% of patients achieving a complete response.
Each patient in the trial received a vaccine designed with Evaxion’s AI-Immunology platform to target the neoantigens of their own tumor. At two years, EVX-01 had induced an immune response in all patients, and tumor reduction was seen in 15 of the 16 enrolled patients.
The three-year clinical and immune data will be presented in a poster at the ESMO Congress in Madrid on October 24, followed by a webinar on October 29.
“We are highly excited by the new data reflecting a long durability of clinical responses in this hard-to-treat patient population,” says Birgitte Rønø, CSO and COO of Evaxion.
