MedTech on the agenda in Helsinki
MedTech investors, entrepreneurs and companies met on September 3rd to hear funding pitches, learn more about global opportunities and challenges and exchange industry tips.
The MedTech Nordic Investing & Partnering event took place at the Finlandia Hall conference center in the centre of Helsinki on Töölö Bay. The annual event is organized by Nordic medtech trade associations and their partners. The purpose is to enhance investments, create business opportunities and give the Nordic medtech industry a chance to meet, have fun and network.
During the day, three awards were also handed out to happy Nordic healthcare technology companies. The Medtech Nordic Growth Award went to the Finnish company Optomeditech who has developed a laser-based technology for the insertion of intravenous catheters. The Clinica Award went to the Danish company TKS Technology, who has developed a technology which enables severely paralyzed people to control equipment and systems wirelessly, using tongue. And finally, the MediAward went to the Finnish company Onbone, who has developed a new ecological casting solution for fractures, using wood composite.
