Katarina Ageborg took over the role as Chief Executive Officer after Jan-Olof Jacke on August 1st 2018.

Ageborg has been a member of AstraZeneca’s management team since 2011 and she will also maintain her roles as Head of Sustainability and Chief Compliance Officer.

“It will be an exciting challenge to take over this role and I am at the same time humbled by the assignment. Jan-Olof Jacke has been able to strengthen AstraZeneca’s visibility and trademark in Sweden and at the same time he has contributed in developing the company’s presence on the international market,” said Katarina Ageborg.

“I am very happy that Katarina now will be responsible for developing AstraZeneca’s strong position in Sweden. At the same time, I would like to thank Jan-Olof Jacke for his efforts throughout the years. He has been a prominent ambassador and he has contributed to developing the company, not only in Sweden, but also internationally,” said Pascal Soriot, Chairman of AstraZeneca AB and CEO of AstraZeneca.

Jan-Olof Jacke will leave AstraZeneca this fall and start his new position as CEO of Svenskt Näringsliv.
