Charlotte Gummeson has been appointed new CEO of the Sahlgrenska Science Park in Gothenburg, Sweden.
She will start her new position on the 1st of January 2016 and leaves behind her a position at Almi Invest, as Investment Manager. She has also worked as Investment Manager at Innovationsbron and as Head for the Swedish branch of the Japanese pharma company Astellas Pharma, as well as Marketing Director at GlaxoSmithKline.
The recruitment of Gummeson is in line with the Science Park’s efforts in life sciences in Gothenburg and they are also reinforcing its Board during the summer with the Principle of Chalmers, Stefan Bengtsson, and the Principle of the University of Gothenburg, Pam Fredman.
“Charlotta Gummeson has a broad experience from life science and of leadership in research based business projects. Her experiences from both entrepreneurial-driven companies and as Country Manager at a big international company mean that she has the requirements to lead Sahlgrenska Science Park into its next phase,” said the new Director of the Board, Marianne Dicander Alexandersson, in a press release.
Sahlgrenska Science Park is tasked by Business Region Göteborg, Region Västra Götaland, the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology with strengthening the innovation system in the life science field in the West of Sweden. Their vision is to help the already successful medical sector of industry in the region to develop into an international and attractive centre in the field of life science.
