The Health&Care21 monitor website (HelseOmsorg21-monitor) provides a one-stop compilation of national statistics on health and care research. The aim with the new monitor is to provide a comprehensive overview of resource use, results and impacts of research and innovation activities.
The Health&Care21 monitor is a follow-up action to the National Research and Innovation Strategy on Health and Care for the 21st Century (Health&Care21). The Research Council of Norway was commissioned to establish the monitor by the Ministry of Health and Care Services in 2015. A broad-based project group has been responsible for design and implementation.
“The Health&Care 21 monitor will give us a basis for deciding which measures should be given priority. Without adequate knowledge, it is difficult to assess things correctly. But when we have adequate knowledge about something, we are obligated to use it as the foundation for assessments and decisions,” stated State Secretary Anne Grethe Erlandsen of the Ministry of Health and Care Services at the launch of the monitor on 28 November 2016.
The website will be a useful tool for politicians, the public administration, journalists, universities, university colleges and others interested in Norwegian health and care research and innovation.
