Danish biotech Breye Therapeutics has closed an oversubscribed EUR 67.5 million Series A financing to advance danegaptide, its first-in-class oral treatment for non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR), into a Phase II clinical trial.

The company has closed a EUR 62.5 million Series B round, co-led by Novo Holdings and the Ljungström family office, to take its oral heart failure candidate AC01 through Phase 2b development and toward Phase 3 readiness by 2028.
