Novo raises 2026 outlook on GLP-1 sales
Novo has raised its full-year 2026 outlook after a stronger-than-expected third quarter. Adjusted sales and adjusted operating profit are now both expected to change by −2% to +2% at constant exchange rates, up from 0% to −6% previously, driven by higher expectations for GLP-1 sales. It is the company’s third outlook upgrade this year.
Third-quarter sales were DKK 79.2 billion, up 4% at constant exchange rates, with growth in both the US and international operations, led by obesity. Adjusted operating profit rose 27% to DKK 31.7 billion, helped by a favorable comparison with Q3 2025, when the company booked DKK 9 billion in transformation costs. Reported operating profit fell 9% after DKK 8.7 billion in non-cash impairments related to ziltivekimab and the right-sizing of its manufacturing network.
The Wegovy pill generated DKK 5.4 billion in the quarter and has now launched in eight markets. In the pipeline, CagriSema delivered 21% weight loss at week 68 in the REDEFINE 9 trial, and Novo is preparing for a US launch in early 2027, subject to regulatory approval.
“We delivered a stronger-than-expected third quarter and are raising our full-year outlook for adjusted sales and adjusted operating profit,” says Mike Doustdar, President and CEO of Novo.
