During a meeting at the US ambassador’s residence in Sweden on September 20th, collaboration on data driven life sciences and Real World Evidence’s (RWE’s) impact on Swedish life sciences was discussed.
The meeting was arranged by MSD, SwedenBIO, Karolinska Institutet and the American Chamber of Commerce.
“The event was important in order to showcase concrete examples that can come out of RWE, for example the elimination of HPV,” commented Jakob Tellgren, Vice President Nordic & the Baltic States, MSD.
Earlier this year MSD’s global research organization CORE (Center for Observational and Real-World Evidence) and Karolinska Institutet prolonged their five year long partnership on these issues and during the event it was discussed how partnerships between industry and academia, with strong support from both patients and politics, can accelerate the use of RWE, registry research and advanced methods of improving healthcare and public health.
