Takeda, originating in Japan, is a global pharmaceutical company with roughly 50,000 employees worldwide.

“Takeda is exactly the kind of tenant we want. They will contribute to promoting the exchange of ideas and innovation in areas such as neuroscience, which further strengthens our cluster. In Forskaren, they get an environment that stimulates the internal culture and attracts talent from all over Sweden and the world,” says Micael Averborg, VP Business Development at Vectura.

Forskaren

Forskaren was inaugurated in May 2024 and is today a hub within life science in Hagastaden and an important meeting place for innovation, research and business. The round branded building was the first of Vectura’s big investment in the Science City, and more projects along Norra Stationsgatan are now being planned in full. The next project on the way, a stone’s throw from Forskaren, will also contribute to Vectura’s goal of a world-class life science cluster, they state.

Forskaren already includes AstraZeneca, Elekta and AbbVie, which together with other tenants and partners in the area create a strong community.

“We are here to learn, understand and work side by side with all those who have the patient’s best interests at heart. A meeting place where innovation and collaboration are the focus is therefore absolutely right for our continued development as a company. The area has a special atmosphere with so much experience and competence gathered in an exciting mix. We are very much looking forward to becoming part of this fantastic ecosystem, “says Per Rydingsvärd, interim General Manager Takeda Sweden, and Business Unit Director Rare Diseases.
