Gentian posts record quarterly sales
Norwegian diagnostics company Gentian Diagnostics reported record third-quarter sales of NOK 51.1 million, up 22% from NOK 41.8 million a year earlier and 30% in currency-neutral organic terms.
EBITDA rose to NOK 13.6 million from NOK 8.4 million, lifting the margin to 27% from 20%. Gross margin improved to 61% from 56%, which the company attributes to higher production yields and a favorable geographic sales mix.
US sales grew 23% in the quarter, driven by Cystatin C, a kidney function test, while sales of fecal calprotectin test fCAL turbo rose 23% through partner BÜHLMANN. Sales in Asia were down 33% year to date due to pricing and testing restrictions in China.
On the development side, an assay for a key IVD partner has moved from research into development and remains on track for launch in the fourth quarter of 2027. Gentian now has seven assay projects and one technology development project under way.
