The competition was held on April 15 at Messukeskus Helsinki during ChemBio Finland and aims to inspire students to pursue biobusiness and entrepreneurship. Finnish Bioindustries FIB organized the event in collaboration with Terkko Health Hub, HiLIFE and Nasdaq Helsinki.

Open to all students at Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences

The competition was open to all students at Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences, from bachelor’s through to doctoral level. Five teams were selected for the final. The pitched ideas ranged from metabolism measurement to using feathers as fertiliser. The finalists were Phyconova, NeutroMap, Breathome Analytics, Abbis Oy and Pluma Bio.

A novel boron neutron capture solution

The winning proposal offers a novel boron neutron capture solution for treating head and neck cancer.

The winner receives a EUR 1,000 prize and visibility on the Nasdaq MarketSite screen in Times Square, New York.
