Nightingale Health’s test enters public primary care in South Savo
The company’s blood-based disease-risk detection has become part of statutory primary healthcare in Finland, as registration opened today for Eloisa’s “Wellbeing Gift” programme in the South Savo Wellbeing Services County.
The programme offers the test to residents born in 1971, 1976 and 1981 – that is, people turning 45, 50 or 55 this year – who live in the Eloisa area or have chosen it as their primary healthcare provider. From a single blood sample, Nightingale Health produces an individual risk estimate for five common chronic diseases: heart attack, ischemic stroke, type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease and fatty liver disease, benchmarked against people of the same age.
AI in Nordic life sciences: Less about deals, more about ecosystems
AI-related news from the Nordic life science industry has been less about single blockbuster deals and more about ecosystem-level moves, new initiatives, and investments.
Participants identified at elevated risk are directed to a remote consultation with an Eloisa nurse and digital lifestyle coaching, with a second blood test after six months to track how their risk profile has changed. Clinical follow-up runs through Eloisa’s existing care pathways.
The rollout is the first practical phase of a collaboration Nightingale Health and South Savo agreed in June 2025. A scientific evaluation led by the University of Eastern Finland is running alongside the pilot through April 2027, assessing the operating model and its impact before any decision on a broader rollout.
