Danish biotech companies and scientists from the University of Copenhagen are invited to meet April 9 with BioPeople, the University of Copenhagen, the Capital Region and AstraZeneca Nordic Outreach to learn more about AstraZeneca’s areas of research focus and activities in the Danish and Nordic life science sector.

Attendees also will have the chance to interact and identify common interests, goals and opportunities for collaboration. The event is scheduled to be held at the Symbion Conference Center, Fruebjergvej 3, Copenhagen.

“AstraZeneca is very interested in learning more about the Danish life science ecosystem at the universities and at the small biotech companies.  We have to strengthen Nordic life science through cross border collaboration. That’s why we come to Copenhagen to hopefully establish contact with academic science and biotech companies who work within our core therapy areas,” says Elisabeth Björk of AstraZeneca.

The company’s main focus areas are cardio-vascular, metabolic, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

Representatives of AstraZeneca are expected to discuss the company’s scientific strategy and participants may be able to attend brief one-on-one meetings with AstraZeneca staff members.

Danish biotech companies can apply for participation and AstraZeneca will select companies with a potential for a business match or a match of research interests.

Those wishing to apply must do so by March 5 here: http://www.biopeople.dk/our-events/events-calender/event/calendar/2015/04/09/event/tx_cal_phpicalendar/astrazeneca_nordic_outreach/
