Nexstim’s latest brain-mapping system ordered by long-time European hospital customer
Finnish medtech company Nexstim has received an order for its latest-generation NBS 6 navigated brain stimulation system from an existing hospital customer in Europe, as the customer upgrades from an earlier-generation platform.
The order covers a complete NBS 6 system, including the Motor Mapping, Language Mapping and Therapy modules. NBS 6 is used for pre-surgical mapping of speech and motor cortices, for treating major depressive disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder, for managing chronic neuropathic pain, and for post-operative motor rehabilitation. The new generation features reusable head trackers, which Nexstim says improves sustainability and cost-effectiveness for hospitals compared with earlier models. The hospital’s name and country were not disclosed in the release.
“We are pleased to continue supporting this long-time customer in Europe as they upgrade to the latest Nexstim technology,” says Mikko Karvinen, CEO, Nexstim.
