Our magazine was founded in 2007. Next year, we will mark 20 years of covering the Nordic life science industry. From the start, the “Life Science” part of our brand name has been central to us, reflecting our focus on the broader industry – including biotech, pharma, medtech, digital health, and related fields.

When we launched, the term life science was still relatively new, and some wondered why we were not simply called Nordic Pharma or Nordic Biotech. But we remained committed to the name, and over time, life science became widely used throughout the industry.

We believe greater dialogue and interaction among key players in the Nordic life science industry can create new business opportunities, support life-saving treatments, and strengthen the life science sector.

The “Nordic” part of our brand name is equally important. Our countries may be small on their own, but together they form a strong and dynamic region. We believe greater dialogue and interaction among key players in the Nordic life science industry can create new business opportunities, support life-saving treatments, and strengthen the life science sector.

For 20 years, we have reported from across the Nordic region to give readers a full and balanced picture: interviews with Nordic Nobel laureates, profiles of leading business figures, stories about life science careers in smaller Nordic towns, politics and policy articles, and exciting science news from universities throughout the region.

It is different when a competitor uses the same name in a way that may create confusion or suggest an association that does not reflect who we are. That’s why we were disappointed to see one of our competitors copy our name, even though the word order was reversed.

Of course, overlaps with our name exist – companies, organizations, and events – and in those cases, sharing similar wording can be positive. But it is different when a competitor uses the same name in a way that may create confusion or suggest an association that does not reflect who we are. That’s why we were disappointed to see one of our competitors copy our name, even though the word order was reversed. In our view, this is a case where, as a Danish proverb says: “What one cannot rival, one tries to disparage.”

We stand for high-quality reading, clear explanation, and a deeper understanding of the entire Nordic life science industry.
