The Combined Royal Colleges medal is awarded each year for an outstanding contribution to the advancement of medical photography or the wider field of medical imaging.
This year Professor Anders Persson, head of CMIV, was honored with the award. He received the medal for pioneering work in medical imaging.
The medal was originally established in 1958 by the Royal Photographic Society in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians of London, the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. The award ceremony was held at the Royal Society in London.
