This evening, 12 Nordic companies on the rise showcased their innovations for an international audience at Nordic Life Science Days (NLSDays).

The Startup Challenge @ NLSDays is a pitching event showcasing the best and brightest startups currently emerging from the Nordic life science ecosystem.

The best participants were selected in May by an expert jury and tonight they pitched live in front of life science industry decision makers and investors. The contestants were given only a few minutes to pitch, after which they were challenged by a jury.

“Hearing these twelve diverse and brave startups makes me confident that life sciences in the Nordics is on the rise and we’ll keep growing stronger together,” says Jennie Ekbeck, CEO of Umeå Biotech Incubator from this year’s co-organizers of the live pitch event.

Sigrid Therapeutics and Gedea Biotech

Among the selected finalists were Akuru Pharma, Bioreperia, Game Intelligence, Gedea Biotech, Letsip, Lipum, MediTuner, Operationskollen, Quantum Leap Computing Labs, Sigrid Therapeutics, Stayble Therapeutics and Tirmed Pharma. And it was a tie! The two winners were Gedea Biotech and Sigrid Therapeutics. Third place went to Akuru Pharma.

Gedea Biotech is developing an antibiotic-free and safe treatment of vaginal infections and Sigrid Therapeutics are working on a medical device for treatment of pre-diabetes.
