Getinge lifts margin in third quarter
Swedish medtech company Getinge raised its adjusted EBITA margin to 15.1% in the third quarter of 2026, from 13.1% a year earlier, while organic sales grew 2.1%. The company kept its forecast of 3–5% organic sales growth for the full year.
Adjusted EBITA rose to SEK 1,278 million from SEK 1,079 million, and free cash flow increased to SEK 1,302 million from SEK 793 million. Organic order intake grew 2.6%. The margin was helped by SEK 45 million in tariff refunds and SEK 36 million in positive currency effects; excluding these, it improved by more than one percentage point to 14.3%.
Sales growth was driven mainly by Acute Care Therapies, while Surgical Workflows saw good order growth, particularly in operating room equipment. In Life Science, the high-margin Sterile Transfer category grew strongly, while washer-disinfectors and other capital-intensive equipment were held back by continued low investment activity in the pharmaceutical industry.
At the end of the quarter, Getinge began launching Cardiohelp II, its latest platform for extracorporeal life support (ECLS), in CE-marked markets and Hong Kong. It also received FDA 510(k) clearance for a new Edi catheter, used with its ventilators to support premature infants weighing 500–1,000 grams.
“We delivered organic growth in both order intake and sales, while increasing profitability and achieving strong cash flow,” says Mattias Perjos, President and CEO of Getinge.
