Sobi raises outlook and proposes Börje Ekholm as Chair
Swedish rare disease company Sobi has raised its 2026 revenue outlook after third-quarter revenue grew 16% at constant exchange rates to SEK 9,124 million. Former Ericsson CEO Börje Ekholm has been proposed as the company’s next Chair.
Sobi now expects full-year revenue growth of high-teens to low-20s percent at constant exchange rates, up from mid- to high-teens. The adjusted EBITA margin outlook is unchanged at mid- to high-30s percent of revenue.
Haematology revenue rose 29% to SEK 6,171 million, driven by hemophilia A treatment Altuvoct, with sales of SEK 1,729 million (769), and Doptelet at SEK 1,829 million (1,408). Immunology revenue fell 6% to SEK 2,525 million as royalties from RSV antibody Beyfortus dropped to SEK 732 million (1,166), partly offset by Gamifant and Kineret. The adjusted EBITA margin was 45% (47).
In a separate announcement, Sobi’s Nomination Committee proposed that Ekholm be elected Chair at the 2027 Annual General Meeting, succeeding David Meek, who has chaired the board since December 2024 and will not stand for re-election. Ekholm recently stepped down as CEO of Ericsson and has previously led Investor AB, where he was involved in the creation of Sobi through the merger of Biovitrum and Swedish Orphan International. CEO Guido Oelkers will step down no later than the end of January 2027.
“Börje has significant global leadership and board experience and is very familiar with the company,” says Daniel Nodhäll, Chair of the Nomination Committee.
