Quick is a Partner at investment company Flerie, Nanologica’s largest shareholder, and will keep that role. He previously held senior positions at Recipharm, including head of corporate development, and has worked at ICI, Medeva, Celltech and UCB. He will take over once the Swedish Companies Registration Office grants an exemption from the residency requirement for CEOs. Until then, Andreas Bhagwani remains CEO, after which he will lead Nanologica’s purification and separation business. Axel Elner joins as Group CFO in mid-November.

The new strategy follows a board review launched earlier this year. Nanologica is a qualified supplier to several pharmaceutical manufacturers. It initially focused on China but will now direct more of its sales efforts to North America and Europe, where it sees greater profitability potential. The company will also broaden its offering beyond silica-based purification products, while its CDMO subsidiary Syntagon expands its services. Several existing shareholders have indicated support for the rights issue, and partner Sterling Pharma Solutions intends to invest.

“Nanologica has a unique opportunity ahead. The foundations are in place, and our focus will be on executing our growth plans and delivering results,” says Mark Quick.
