SwedenBIO and Biocom Californa sign MOU

The Swedish life science industry organisation SwedenBIO and Biocom, the life science association of California, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to undertake cooperative activities.
Both organisations share a mutually beneficial cooperation going back to 2020. The collaboration took off with a networking event in November 2020 bringing together more than 70 selected companies, investors and academic actors from Sweden and California to brainstorm about how to overcome obstacles standing in the way of innovations in these fields.
The MOU aims to enhance their cooperation within the fields of life sciences, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, health & medical technologies, they state.

A bridge to the US market
The Life Science Bridge is a joint initiative between the regional Swedish American Chambers of Commerce in San Diego, Boston, San Francisco and Minnesota, supporting Scandinavian life science companies looking to expand to the US market. “Sweden and California both have dynamic and innovative life science sectors. We look forward to deepening our cooperation with Biocom California to explore more ways to cooperate and exchange new ideas,” says Jessica Martinsson, CEO and Director General, SwedenBIO.
This MOU will strengthen formally that relationship, building a bridge between the innovative life science communities in Sweden and California.
